This is a nicely sized dual sided massaging brush. I washed my 100lb German Shepard with it. I will say the side with the fine bristles was useless for us. It might be better on a very short haired dog. It works better than gloves, and the strap will work on both large and small hands, but only one side worked for us on my dogs coat. The wider spaced larger bristles worked very well. By using circular motions I was able to loosen up tons of loose fur. Even though my dog is brushed regularly, when I washed him with this brush and blew him dry, it looked like it was snowing fur in my back yard. The brush also seemed easy on his skin and he seemed to enjoy the massage part of his bath. My only concerns with this brush is only one side is useful for us; and I don"t know how long the straps will hold up with rigorous use. If the strap does fail, the brush would be difficult to maintain a grip on it as it is a bit floppy. Overall recommend.
I was excited to try the Messy Mutts reversible dual sided pet grooming brush based on all the glowing recommendations of their products that I have heard from others. Unfortunately, this grooming brush is not a one sized fits all approach.I appreciate that the grooming brush is larger than others since it covers more surface area, but it also concerned me since I have smaller hands. Thankfully, the strap allows me a smidge better control over it. Regardless, the fit is still not the best and forces my hand into an awkward position for a prolonged time, which isn't remotely comfortable. Its performance is also not the greatest. My pup is a double-coated breed with longer fur. The shorter bristles do not pick up most surface level shedding, but, with numerous strokes over the exact same area, it will eventually pick up some small amount of fine fur. It does not come remotely close to deeper penetration of the upper layers, much less to his undercoat. The only saving grace is that my pup seems to enjoy its use just as a gentle dry massage. The side with the longer, firmer spikes works somewhat better for mild scrubbing, but it still seems to be more of a moderately stronger massage tool than anything. The grooming brush does seem to work slightly better than the Messy Mutts grooming glove if you need to pick one, but it still seems more of a nuisance than its worth as an effective grooming/bath tool.
This brush is a good size, it’s perfect for medium or large dogs. I like the hand strap so I can secure it while washing my dogs. I have two huskies and this brush helped get through their thick coats. It feels sturdy, my dogs enjoy it.
The messy mutts grooming brush works really well for removing hair and during bath time. The brush is fairly ergonomic and large enough to help you quickly lather shampoo even on the biggest pup. The brush itself is very durable and it's construction is solid. Great product.
This brush is all silicone including the adjusteable handle strap that you can easily slide your hand through. It's a well made brush, not too heavy but not flimsy. Each side of the brush has different textures of bristles. One side with larger firmer bristles and the other with lots of soft flexible ones. My dogs seem to love the feel of all the soft bristles running through their fur. It's good for dry brushing as well as when they are in the bath to get off the loose fur and debris off.The brush works pretty well. My brushing technique is to go a few strokes with the hair and then a few strokes against it and repeat. This really helps to remove all of the loose fur and dirt.
